SHYLA ALSAEN never expected to see her name included in the list of National Finalists of the 58th Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP), alongside the names of students from UP Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Saint Louis University and other famous universities across the Philippines.
Dispatching a 305 strong delegation, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College salvaged a first-runner up finish from its closest rival and perennial champion, the Benguet State University during the recently concluded CARASUC Athletic Meet hosted by the Abra State institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) on November 25-29.

Nothing worthwhile is achieved the easy way, and so before the team rose to the top, we had to transcend above demanding challenges – challenges that almost halted the team from moving forward.
A total of 56 preservice teachers who are currently deployed for practice teaching in different K-12 schools within and outside the province attended a 5-day intensive review conducted by the Carl Balita Review Center in partnership with the College.
