Fourteen athletic delegates from Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) representing Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) victoriously seized one gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the Arnis, Pencak Silat, athletics and Taekwondo categories during the National State College and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) 2017 held last February 19-24 at Batangas State University (BSU).

Kyle Lumiwes (BS Criminology) and Chad Sadcopen (Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism) battled in the Pencak Silat and successfully snatched a Class F Gold and Class G Bronze respectively. Lumiwes was also able to bring home a silver medal after contending in Arnis. 

Moreover, Estephanie Dakilay raced for 5000 meter run and garnered Silver medal while Job Kumalao was awarded with a silver medal after competing in Taekwondo.

The guest of honor Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Anggara imparted to the listeners especially to the athletes that “the seed of success is planted by failures”.
